Borg Attack

There are times when you are just too attuned to another person. Simultaneity of thought and in reaction is not always a good thing.

My son Joe and I were stopping for a sandwich at Miami Subs in Tampa. It was early for lunch, there were not many people in the place. We ordered and sat down to wait for our sandwiches. We were chatting away, nearly alone in the place. The low customer count may account for why a maintenance man chose at that time to tighten up the door of a waste bin that needed some sort of repair. He walked past us, unnoticed. As he started to tighten some screws he squeezed the trigger on his electric screwdriver a couple of times.

It was the servo-noise from Star Trek. Joe and I simultaneously started, looked at each other with rising panic and said in unison, "Borg!"
