Ancient

In ancient places where none has walked since first time carved a
notch into the walls of man's mind, I left my footprints in
sand as cold as the heart of a diamond.

Walking alone in such a place I discovered that I was haunted.
Spirits hunger for the solitude of deserts but will not let
you pass unmolested for fear they might miss the latest news.

I never was the latest news, even in the old days when what I did
was new. I walk such places because I know them of old.
Surprised is the only the beginning of what you would be if
you knew how many places nobody has ever been.
