Roads
"The road less traveled" bears no mystique for me
having roads abandoned while my place I seek.
"It's the journey, not the goal"
gets, early, rather old
when the journey's on a road
filled with brambles and with holes.
In youth, I reached for clouds and stars
and sought to mark the sands of time -
as a man I sought music, women, wine.
In my strength at last I search for nought
for what I've sought is what I've got.
If you ask for my advice:
"Seek for nothing, try nothing twice.
Take what comes and savor each slice."
