Suicide

The high tech hack,
the cough of computers,
the sparks like electronic sneezes
light blue the body.

The monitor is off
the keyboard clicks
chattering a short while longer
underneath the chin.

Fluids drip from mouth and nose
stain the keyboard
enter the box
birth the sparks.

Moments before fingers clicking
tapped out a message
wrote the words and shut
the monitor down.

I cannot conceive of suicide
as an emotional act
but only as a rational
transaction of the end.

"I need not be here,"
said the note.
"I want to go to other
places better."
