Chicken with Chicken Sauce
Main Dish
Chicken with chicken sauce, well, it is very
"chickeny". Goes well with mashed potatoes. Corn is an excellent side dish and the addition of biscuits or cornbread with some of the sauce over it is usually a hit. You get about 4 servings. Prep time is minimal, cooking time is about 90 minutes. Attributed to Pat Johnson.
Ingredients/Shopping List
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 1 pinch poultry seasoning
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 ¼ cups milk
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees°F.
Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish and season to taste.
Mix soup with milk. Use 2 cans of soup for a thicker sauce. Pour soup mixture evenly over chicken and bake in preheated oven about 1 1/2 hours.
The number of variations possible are innumerable. Top with a favorite cheese. Stir in some minced onion or onion powder or a bit of garlic. The list of flavors to jazz this up just goes on and on. I like adding a sprinkle of chili and cayenne to the soup mix.
