Japanese Green Beans

Side Dish

There's not much "Japanese" about this recipe. My family always thought anything with Soy Sauce in it was Japanese… This is a very simple 5 minute side dish. Provides 4 servings.

Directions

Steam beans and drain. I've recently discovered Zip Loc Zip 'N' Steam bags. I love these for frozen vegetables. 5-6 minutes in one of the Zip 'N' Steam bags and asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli — or beans are done perfectly. They're even better for fresh vegetables.

Sprinkle equal parts soy sauce and sesame seed oil over beans. Sprinkle w/ sugar to taste. Add crushed red pepper to taste. If you prefer you can sprinkle onion flakes instead of red pepper for a different taste.

Stir and serve!
