Japanese Green Beans
Side Dish
There's not much "Japanese" about this recipe. My family always thought anything with Soy Sauce in it was Japanese
This is a very simple 5 minute side dish. Provides 4 servings.
Ingredients/Shopping List
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
- ½ teaspoon white sugar
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Directions
Steam beans and drain. I've recently discovered Zip Loc Zip 'N' Steam bags. I love these for frozen vegetables. 5-6 minutes in one of the Zip 'N' Steam bags and asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli or beans are done perfectly. They're even better for fresh vegetables.
Sprinkle equal parts soy sauce and sesame seed oil over beans. Sprinkle w/ sugar to taste. Add crushed red pepper to taste. If you prefer you can sprinkle onion flakes instead of red pepper for a different taste.
Stir and serve!
