Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Main Dish, Side Dish
This dish takes about 40 minutes to prepare and cook. Meatballs can be prepared in advance making this a quick after-work meal. This works as a main dish with a side of stir-fry or perhaps some corn-on-the-cob. You can also have this as a companion dish for soup or a large salad.

- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 can pineapple chunks
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1 green pepper, chopped

- ½ cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 lb hamburger
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
Directions
Sweet & Sour Sauce:
Mix cornstarch and brown sugar. Over high heat, stir in pineapple, soy sauce, and vinegar. Mix thoroughly while heating to boiling.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes. Stir to prevent sticking.
Add green pepper, cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Meatballs:
Mix all ingredients; shape into 1 ½ inch balls.
Cook in 400° oven for 25 minutes.
